HPC 3O1 - Children's Stories!

This week in Parenting we are going to be learning about Children's Stories, and the importance of reading and being read to for a child's intellectual development. Our schedule for the week is going to look something like this:

Monday: What makes a good children's book? The characteristics of a good story. During this class we will evaluate different stories for these characteristics.

Tuesday and Wednesday: Creating your own children's story.

For these two classes we will be in the computer lab creating our own children's stories using an online program called Storybird. This free program allows you to create and share your own stories online! Check out this video tutorial and the link to the website.

Consider some of the oldest children's stories and fairy tales you know. How are they different from the stories we read to children today?
